Ma è sempre meglio partecipare no?
Newcomer Ellison is a true Donington Park expert, having worked as an instructor at Ron Haslam?s riding school based at the circuit, and will be using his experience to better his chances in this weekend?s races.
?Donington Park is my favourite circuit in the country,? said Ellison who lives down the road from the track in Leicester. ?I was there last year in the British Superbikes. I remember that it was really wet and cold, in fact I think it actually snowed!
?I would say that my favourite part of the circuit is the exit from Redgate around Hollywood and down into Craner Curves. You have to get it right otherwise it could be nasty. You?ve got to be committed and then it?s a great place to pass. Over the years, I?ve made some good moves on people down there and this year the circuit is in better conditions than ever! It?s a real smooth circuit to ride.?
The British rider?s home advantage might not be enough however, as he will be competing against the likes of current champion Troy Bayliss, currently third in the championship.
Donington Park?s European round will also feature four Wildcard riders, taking part in the Corona Extra SBK Superbike World Championship (WSBKTM) or the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup.
WSBK Wildcard riders include Loughborough?s Aaron Zanotti riding the SMT Yamaha YZF-R1 and Giovanni Bussei, from Italy, riding a Team Sterilgarda Ducati 999. Aaron competed in the 2006 Metzeler Racetec National Superstock Championship, finishing second with one race win and three podium positions, whilst Giovanni already holds serious experience in WSBK with 105 starts in the championship.
Adam Jenkinson, from Manchester, will ride the Rocket Centre Racing Suzuki in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup along with Jonathan Howarth, riding the MSG Podium Suzuki, and Robert Gianfardoni, from Italy, on the RG Team Yamaha YZF-R1.
Advance tickets are still available, offering a ?15 discount on the gate price, by visiting Donington Park directly until Thursday 29 March.
