The Italian manufacturer hasn't made a statement about it, but the most likely hypothesis is that "Elbowz" is feeling pain in the shoulder he injured late last season.
A definitive decision is expected tomorrow morning.
If he does decide to stop riding, Spies, who didn't test at Valencia because of an operation on that same shoulder, could arrive at the season opening race with very little experience on the Ducati.
