Ecco a voi la nuova gomma Racetec per il 2009:
New Metzeler Racetec Interact tyre
October 16, 2008 - Kenny Pryde
Metzler's new Racetec Interact tyre feratures a new construction technology and a new compound mixing process which, claims Metzeler, means "a new equilibrium" in the overall tyre design. The compounds, the tread, carcass and materials all...interact (geddit?) to produce a clever new tyre designed with sportsbikes in mind. The press release needs more than one reading to make sense of it (and we're still working on that, since it is an English translation of a Germano-Italian document) but it all sounds good. Here are edited highlights:
"The Tyre is a complex of different structure materials - the steel wire in the carcass and textile - as well as the tread compound. In addition to this, Metzeler technicians have developed an innovative mixing process to ensure highly homogeneous compound distribution, perfectly operating among internal elements (balanced distribution throughout the compound from centre to tyre edge) and external factors (Tarmac, temperatures, and riding styles).
Full interaction between carcass, steel belt and tread compound, as a new complex equilibrium, guarantees better performances in terms of total wet behavior, grip, safe riding and stability."
The tyre comes in four compounds ? three for varying track conditions ? as well as one designed specifically for road riding. The new tyre should be in dealers next February.
